BARN THEATRE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR LOCAL YOUNG PERFORMERS TO JOIN CHRISTMAS PRODUCTION OF HONK!
FOUR LOCAL 16-YEAR-OLDS SOUGHT FOR PAID ROLES AS DUCKLINGS AND FROGLETS IN THE AWARD-WINNING MUSICAL

CEO and Artistic Director Iwan Lewis and the whole team at the Barn Theatre are delighted to invite young local performers to audition for its upcoming Christmas production of Honk!, the Olivier Award-winning musical by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.
Barn Theatre is looking for four local, youthful 16-year-olds to play the roles of Ducklings and Froglets in the production, which runs from 21 November 2026 to 3 January 2027.
Auditions will take place on Saturday 24 October at the Barn Theatre in Cirencester.
The paid opportunity is open to confident young performers with strong singing, acting and dance skills, who can convincingly play younger children. Performers of all genders and appearances are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must have been born on or before 31 August 2010, live within easy travelling distance of Cirencester and be able to live at home throughout the rehearsal and performance period. Successful applicants must also be available for rehearsals from 26 October, with exact rehearsal dates to be confirmed.

Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s classic story The Ugly Duckling, Honk! follows Ugly, a duckling who is teased by his siblings and friends because of his unusual appearance. When he becomes lost and finds himself in danger, Ugly embarks on a wild adventure of mistaken identities, unexpected friendships and close encounters as he sets out to discover where he belongs.
Since its premiere, Honk! has become a worldwide musical theatre favourite, with more than 8,000 productions staged internationally. The show has also won multiple awards, including the Olivier Award for Best Musical.
Combining a heartwarming story with colourful characters, catchy songs and plenty of comedy, Honk!is a festive treat designed to entertain audiences of all ages – with plenty for grown-ups to enjoy alongside younger theatregoers.
