The Belgrade Theatre in Coventry is celebrating an incredible night of success at the UK Theatre Awards, taking home two prestigious accolades! As proud supporters of their work, we’re thrilled to send a huge congratulations to the entire team for this well-deserved recognition.
The UK Theatre Awards honour the best of theatre across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, and this year, the Belgrade Theatre was attached to two award-winning productions:
Best New Play: Swim, Aunty, Swim!
Best Design: Kenneth MacLeod for Dracula: Mina’s Reckoning
Swim, Aunty, Swim!, one of the Belgrade’s flagship in-house productions, was developed in collaboration with tiata fahodzi. This powerful and innovative play reflects the theatre’s ongoing commitment to creating meaningful work for the people of Coventry and the wider region.
Meanwhile, Kenneth MacLeod’s stunning design work for Dracula: Mina’s Reckoning—a co-production with the National Theatre of Scotland and Aberdeen Performing Arts—secured the award for Best Design, adding further success to the Belgrade’s stellar year.
