The last couple of weeks has seen the usual busy whirlwind of opening nights, media interviews, and exciting new shows to promote for the ANRPR team.
Highlights include:
The first night of Romeo and Juliet at the Belgrade Theatre was truly remarkable, receiving five-star reviews for both the cast and crew. One review praised it, saying, “This is one of the finest interpretations of Shakespeare we have ever seen and a must-see for audiences of all ages.” This production will be showcased at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry until March 8, 2025, after which it will travel to the Bristol Old Vic and ANRPR venue client Hackney Empire.

The Olivier-nominated international musical sensation The Choir of Man is set to reopen at the Arts Theatre, after a brief period of closure for venue redevelopment. This extraordinary show features a remarkable cast of nine men who blend beautiful harmonies and lively singalongs with exceptional tap dancing and poetic reflections on the power of community, and work is underway on the comms strategy for the reopening and the new company.

We announced the rest of the 2025 Watermill season, including the new summer musical, a new interpretation of Jesus Christ Superstar, followed by a fabulous new production of Charley’s Aunt, adapted by Rob Madge…and a folk inspired Little Mermaid as the award-winning theatre’s festive offering, with songs by Amie Parsons of True Foxes. This new Watermill production weaves together salty sea air, folk and sea shanty inspired songs and an ethereal world below the waves for Christmas 2025. And, not only did we announce the rest of the cast joining Audrey Brisson in Piaf next month, as rehearsals started, we also announced the theatre’s gorgeous new refreshed brand!

And speaking of Christmas…we’re already beginning to think about our slate of festive shows – with announcements for the King’s Head pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, Stick Man in London and Leeds, plus a UK tour, and also an autumn tour of Slava’s Snowshow, following its triumphant return to the UK last year.
What a fortnight!
