Aimie Atkinson is an award-winning British actress and recording artist. She won the BBC ‘Voice of Musical Theatre’ in 2006; and was nominated at the 2019 Olivier Awards for ‘Best Actress in a Supporting Role In a Musical’, for her two-year incredible performance as one of the original ‘The Queens’ in Six The Musical.
As a recording artist, besides being a Solo Artist in the Gold-selling album SIX, Aimie released her solo debut album Step Inside Love in 2017; as well as a cover of the classic Roy Orbison’s song Pretty Woman in 2021. After releasing the singles Monster, Muse, and The Tease in 2024, Aimie signed a record deal with Westway Music for her most recent album Queen. With this new album, Aimie not only pays tribute to the musical theatre songs that have had the most impact on her life, but also explores her own pop singer-songwriter passion.
In the theatre world, Aimie most recently played ‘Rem’ in the sell-out world premiere of Death Note in concert at the London Palladium and Lyric Theatre, ‘Lucia’ in the musical production of Figaro at the Palladium, and ‘Drew’ in We Aren’t Kids Anymore: A New Musical at the Savoy Theatre.
In the latest news, Aimie will originate the leading role of ‘Nannerl’ in the UK premiere of the new musical Saving Mozart, opening at The Other Palace on 28 July 2025.
Aimie, who played ‘Catherine Howard’ on stage in the original West End cast of Six from 2017-2019 (at The Arts Theatre and first UK Tour), recently reunited with her fellow Queens for the film Six the Musical Live!, filmed at the Vaudeville in 2024, and released in cinemas nationwide on 6 April. She also collaborated with them on a new Marlow and Moss track called My Girls, a shimmering, empowering friendship anthem, that was released via 6 Music label.
Further theatre credits include originating the role of ‘Vivian Ward’ in Pretty Woman (Savoy Theatre); ‘Catherine Howard’ in Six The Musical (Edinburgh, UK Tour, Vaudeville & Lyric Theatres); ‘Daniela’ in In the Heights (King’s Cross Theatre); ‘Serena’ in Legally Blonde (Kilworth House Theatre); ‘Elizabeth’ in Dirty Dancing (UK tour), ‘Chloe’ in Never Forget, ‘Penny’ in Carnaby Street, ‘Luisa’ in Zorro (UK tours); ‘Shelby Stevens’ in Steel Pier (Union Theatre); ‘Vusuvia’ in Eurobeat (Edinburgh) and ‘Dorothy’ in Wizard of Oz (ATG).
